So for some reason (I suspect mind control), I promised some of my co-workers that I would make baked ziti for lunch tomorrow. So I went to my aunt’s house today (after getting her permission) to use her kitchen and oven, since mine are so ridiculously small. I made two pans (bought disposable pans, of course, I don’t have any casserole pans and it’s stupid to buy one when my oven is too small for them) and me and my cousin ate dinner out of one, because it would be wasteful to bring two whole pans for only 13 people (heck, one pan might be enough, but I’d rather bring more than less). And while the ziti was cooling, I got bored and decided to bake a pie. My aunt had a can of blackberry pie filling with a simple recipe on it, so I went ahead and made it. It was blackberry cheesecake pie, and my cousin and I both had a piece, and it was very good. I left that there, though, as a “thank you” to my aunt for letting me use her kitchen. I may make it again sometime for myself, but I’ll have to get a slightly bigger pie shell, it was almost overflowing out of the one that I found in her freezer. XD
The ziti wasn’t entirely cool when I left her house, so right now it’s cooling a bit more before I pop it into the fridge. If you put a large container of hot food in the fridge, bacteria can grow in it, so it’s best to let food cool to room temp before putting it away.
And now I am contemplating going to bed once that ziti is done cooling. I am very tired! XD
I was curious, so I went looking. The “don’t put hot food in the fridge” thing isn’t true:

Basically, you’re risking bacteria MORE by leaving it out.
Great. Now I’m gonna worry all day that I might be making my coworkers sick. x.x
I don’t think, on the average, that it is a huge deal either way. Then again, I’m pretty lazy about leaving pizza out for hours and I’ve never gotten sick, even with meat on it.
